Experience and Education

Julie has a wide range of experience with many specialties such as pain management, women’s health, facial rejuvenation, digestive disorders.

Julie started her practice as a bodyworker. Ten years into massage therapy, she wanted to expand her ability to bring healing to people. Julie then graduated cum laude with a Master degree in Acupuncture from Northwestern Health Sciences University, after also studying at Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

Prior to studying Eastern Medicine, she received a bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota. She is certified in acupuncture by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and licensed by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice. Additionally, Julie graduated from skin therapy school in 2012 and has been a licensed esthetician since then. She obtained her esthetician management license in 2021.

Julie is proficient in Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture System and has been practicing acupuncture professionally since 2013. She launched a community acupuncture program with HealthPartners, and has practiced in a variety of settings from hospitals to community clinics. Julie has achieved a 200 hour yoga teacher training certification which she uses to prescribe real-life exercises for her patients. Other clinical experience includes internship rotations at Fairview Riverside Hospital, Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute, Pillsbury Integrative Community Clinic, and Salvation Army Harbor Lights.

Julie has a passion for working fast-paced events and bringing acupuncture to the masses in an accessible manner. She is currently in the process of founding a nonprofit, MN Acupuncture Collective. Julie strives to connect with each individual and bring joy and healing to those in her path.

Outside of acupuncture, Julie enjoys spending time with her two children, repotting house plants, playing video games, hosting get togethers with friends, and is always working on too many projects to keep count.
